All the Children, A Dream Interpreted

The dream goes like this…

A man is driving me to his home. We drive on a bridge over a lake and then the road descends into the lake and his home is under the lake. He points out to me that there are turtles in the lake. I see one, then a whole bunch, and then I even see giant turtles. I am pretty amazed. We get to his home. There is a skinny lady sitting in a chair and a small yappy dog. She slaps the dog really hard and that surprises me. I am sitting in a large chair. It’s so big the arms of the chair are above my head. A little red-haired blue-eyed girl around the age 4 or 5 walks up to me. I think she looks exactly like my cousin Anna when she was little. I ask the little girl her name and she states, “Anna.” I felt very happy because I intuitively knew it.

Change scene. Laying in my bed with white noise on, I wake up. (This part seemed very realistic) I think I hear children screaming. I tell my Alexa to “stop” the white noise so I can listen. I do in fact hear children screaming. I get up out of bed to look out the window. There is a bunch of elementary aged children lined up in the backyard behind a chain linked fence to take a picture. There are a few female teachers with them. They took the picture in front of a truck. All the sudden, they are closer to the window and there is no fence. I wave hoping they can see me. They seem to notice something, but they don’t wave back. A teacher notices them looking, looks and asks what they are looking at. I show my face and smile. She is shocked and screams, but then laughs.

Change scene. I am standing at a neighbor‘s house talking. We notice the children a few houses down standing in the front yard with the truck and a young adult male teacher. He walks up to us and explains it’s his first-year teaching and he was gifted a truck. The lady says she would like to make a donation to his classroom and hands him a check. He is humbled by the amount on the check. I ask how much the check is and he says, “I hope she isn’t actually giving me this money.” He shows me the check. It has “10222…’ and so many 2‘s that they continue onto the back of the check. I notice that the teacher looks almost identical to my 15 yr. old son. He states that he is tired, and he is going to go inside his house and take a nap before he goes back to class. I ask if I can go with him saying that I need to pee but I really just want to be near him and see his home. When we enter the small 1 story house, it is suddenly a large penthouse with many floors. The first floor is a lobby and there are lots of elderly people there like in a nursing home. There seems to be white and green marble everywhere, or jade? It’s old-fashioned but it’s fancy and expensive. I follow him up several floors somewhere in the middle of the penthouse. He takes so many turns around columns that I lose him.

Change scene. I’m in the original small 1 story house. There are some people from my past there. I notice the sister of my friend holding up her shirt exposing herself and daring her young son to punch her in the boobs! And he does just that several times. The end.

Driving (Dreammoods)

To dream that someone else is driving you represents your dependence on the driver. You are not in control of your life and following the goals of others instead of your own.

Driving Underwater (Liquids and Solids Spirit)

If you dream of driving a car or other vehicle underwater, this could represent your desire to escape from some situation in your waking life. It could also symbolize your desire to live a more exciting or adventurous life.

Maybe youโ€™ve been struggling with self-doubt and feel like youโ€™re not living up to your full potential. The dream could be a way for your mind to push you toward making some changes in your life to break free from your comfort zoneโ€”so you can achieve more and live up to your full potential.

Bridge (Dreammoods)

To dream that you are crossing a bridge signifies an important decision or a critical junction in your life. This decision will prove to be a positive change filled with prosperity and wealth in the horizon. Bridges represent a transitional period in your life where you will be moving on to a new stage. If the bridge is over water, then it suggests that your transition will be an emotional one. If you fall off the bridge and into the water, then the dream indicates that you are letting your emotions hold you back and prevent you from moving forward.  Alternatively, the bridge may indicate that you are trying to “bridge” or connect two things together.

Lake (Dreammoods)

To see a lake in your dream signifies your emotional state of mind. You feel restricted and that you can’t express your emotions freely. Alternatively, the lake may provide you with solace, security, and peace of mind. If the lake is clear and calm, then it symbolizes your inner peace. If the lake is disturbed, then you may be going through some emotional turmoil.

Turtle (Dreammoods)

To see a turtle in your dream symbolizes wisdom, faithfulness, longevity, and loyalty. It also suggests that you need to take it slow in some situation or relationship in your life. With time and patience, you will make steady progress. Alternatively, a turtle indicates that you are sheltering yourself from the realities of life. You are putting forth a hard exterior and not letting others in. As a result, you are feeling withdrawn.

Because the dreamer is seeing turtles from above the water and then under the water as she descends into and under the lake, we can intuit that she may be sheltering herself from others, but more so she is going within her shell, finding her “inner peace”. As she goes deeper within herself during this emotional transition more and more turtles appear, and then giant turtles. We can see how going within can bring her the qualities that the turtle symbolizes, like wisdom and longevity. The dreamer should also be guided to take on this journey like the turtle would, slow and steady. With time and patience, she will make progress.

Dog (Dreammoods)

To see a dog in your dream symbolizes intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. The dream suggests that your strong values and good intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and bring you success. The dream dog may also represent someone in your life who exhibits these qualities. Alternatively, to see a dog in your dream indicates a skill that you may have ignored or forgotten. To see a happily barking dog in your dream symbolizes pleasures and social activity. You are being accepted into some circle. If the dog is white, then it indicates that the intentions of a friend are pure and true. Also consider the notions associated with the word dog, such as loyalty (“man’s best friend”) and to be “treated like a dog”

Slap (Dreammoods)

To dream that you are slapped in the face indicates carelessness. You either feel unappreciated or betrayed.

Dreaming of someone slapping someone else implies that you are not taking responsibility or stepping up to resolve issues that concern you in your waking life.

Observing a SlapRecognizing conflicts or tensions in oneโ€™s environment but feeling detached or unable to intervene.
(Box above is from Spiritual Unite; they have wonderful insights of the “slap” symbol)

Notice the repetition of meanings like loyalty and betray from multiple symbols. This is validation that this is part of the dream theme and something the dreamer may be struggling with or needs to reflect on. Often, each character in a dream represents different aspects of the dreamer. The dog being yappy symbolizes the dreamer experiencing pleasure and socializing with those she feels loyal to. The dog being white indicates her intentions are pure and true. The fact that the dreamer observes a slap and the that the person is slapping the dog implies that the dreamer feels her loyalty has been betrayed or abused but she feels helpless to intervene.

Chair (Dreammoods)

To see a chair in your dream symbolizes your need to sit down and take time out to contemplate a situation before proceeding. Or you just need to relax. Alternatively, it indicates that your feelings or ideas are being dismissed or cast to the side.

To dream that someone is offering you a chair suggests that you need to be open to taking and accepting advice.

Chair (Spiritual Unite)

Chairs provide support. They hold us up, offer comfort, and can even guide our posture. In a dream, a chair might symbolically represent the support and guidance you have or need in your life. The spiritual meaning of a chair in a dream, in this context, could be a reminder of the support network surrounding you or a nudge to seek guidance when needed. If the chair in your dream is grand, it could symbolize your attained success or highlight your ambitions.

Anna (Very Well Family)

The name Anna comes to us from the Hebrew word ื—ึทื ึธึผื” (แธคannฤh or โ€ŽChanah), meaning โ€œgraceโ€ or โ€œfavor.โ€ The ancient Romans also used Anna as a name meaning โ€œthe yearโ€™s cycle.โ€

Meeting Anna while sitting in this oversized chair is a beautiful message to the dreamer, that although she is experiencing unpleasant emotions, she has the support she needs. She has grace and favor. Furthermore, the name meaning “a year’s cycle” hints that there is light at the end of the tunnel. “This too shall pass.”

Children (Dreammoods)

To see children in your dream signify an aspect of yourself and your childlike qualities. You may be retreating back to a childlike state and longing for the past. You are trying to still satisfy repressed desires and unfulfilled hopes. Perhaps there is something that you need to see grow and nurture. Take some time off and cater to the inner child within. Alternatively, the dream may be highlighting your innocence, purity, simplicity, and carefree attitude. To dream that you are watching children but they do not know you are there is a metaphor for some hidden knowledge or some latent talent which you have failed to recognize.

Scream (Dreammoods)

To hear or dream that someone is screaming indicates that some friend or family member is in need of your help.

Screaming (Liquids and Solids)

Helplessness or a loss of control can also result in screaming in dreams. Sometimes things happen in our lives that we canโ€™t control, and it leaves us with pent-up emotions that we find difficult to release. Screaming can also denote fear or frustration.

The Dreamer confirms she longs for the past in a way, her son has recently moved to his father’s home and doesn’t visit often. The latent talent she has failed to realize or see through is simply being a mother to her son. “There is something she needs to see grow and nurture.” The scream indicates she believes he may need her help or that she feels helpless in this situation. Take note of the meaning “innocence” being shown again.

Window (Dreammoods)

To see a window in your dream signifies bright hopes, vast possibilities and insight. To dream that you are looking out the window signifies your outlook on life, your consciousness and your point of view. It also refers to your intuition and awareness. You may be reflecting on a decision. Or the dream is telling you that you need to go out into the larger world and experience life. Consider the significance of the things you see when you look out the window. If you are looking in the window, then it indicates that you are doing some soul searching and looking within yourself. It is time for some introspection. To see another face in the window in your dream suggests that you are feeling emotionally distant and physically detached.  Also consider the emotion depicted on the face.

Note the same theme being repeated here. In bridge, we are shown that there is a major decision to be made. In window, we are shown that the dreamer may be reflecting on a decision. Another thing the dreamer commented on is that her partner recently proposed. Could the dream symbols represent this decision? Absolutely!

Truck (Dreammoods)

To see a truck in your dream suggests that you are overworked. You are taking on too many tasks and are weighed down by all the responsibilities. Pregnant women often dream of trucks or driving trucks. This may be a metaphor of the load they are carrying or an expression of their changing bodies.

Truck (World of Dreams)

Just like a truck carries loads of cargo, you may feel overwhelmed by the weight of obligations and duties that you have to shoulder. This dream could be reflecting the pressure you feel at work, in your relationships, or even in managing daily tasks. A truck symbolizes the heavy burdens and responsibilities that we are carrying, whether it be at work or in our personal lives.

Fence (Dreammoods)

To see a fence in your dream signifies an obstacle or barrier that may be standing on your path. You may feel confined and restricted in expressing yourself. Are you feeling fenced in some situation or confined in some relationship? Alternatively, the fence symbolizes your need for privacy. You are trying to shut off the rest of the world. If there is a hole in the fence, then the hole is encouragement that you can overcome and conquer whatever obstacles may be in your way. It may also mean that your privacy is being compromised.

Notice the repeated theme between the turtle (going within your shell) symbol and fence symbol (shutting off the rest of the world). When different symbols repeat themselves in the same dream, it is confirmation that you are on the right path in discerning the messages. The dreamer will need to reflect on the meanings and the message though. These symbols could be saying two different things depending on the dreamer and the circumstances in their life. The dream could be telling them that they are going within and shutting the world out, or maybe that they need to go within and shut the world out. Often the dreamer will have already addressed these themes in their waking life. If so, she can take the symbols as a sign that she is on the right path.

Chain (Dreamsopedia)

Chain in your dream means your ultimate fears. Your vitality and energy is being drained away by some situation or someone else. You are involved with some questionable people who may be harmful to your well-being. The dream signifies an emotional breakdown. You are still dealing with a break-up.

Link (Dreamsopedia)

Link in your dream is a clue for your need to break free from a routine, old idea, or a relationship. You are looking for emotional support. There is some feeling that you need to express more in your life. This dream refers to feelings of guilt or a breakdown of a plan. You are receptive to different viewpoints.

The “children screaming” symbol may denote sadness and/or frustration, and the chain symbol may denote the dreamers’ ultimate fears, however the window symbol brings hope and vast possibilities. With some insight, she can imagine a positive scenario or good outcome. This same irony is described in the symbols of the truck and the chain-link fence. There is a barrier and difficult situation, a feeling of burden, obstacles, and betrayal; but similar to the hope and possibilities in the window symbol, the holes in the chain-link fence signify encouragement that she can overcome and conquer these obstacles. Furthermore, the face she saw in the window screamed in terror and surprise but then laughs for being so scared. This reiterates the contrary feelings of emotional breakdown mixed in with the feelings of hope and encouragement. We revisit the meaning of the name Anna to solidify the dreamers grace and favor during this hard time in her life, which she can count on being just a cycle or phase. “A year’s cycle” may or may not indicate how much time will pass before the dreamer can expect resolution.

Picture (Dreammoods)

Perhaps, you feel that you need to recapture some past moments in a relationship. Alternatively, taking a picture refers to your desires to hold onto a certain moment in your life.

Teacher (Dreammoods)

To see a teacher in your dream suggests that you are seeking some advice, guidance, or knowledge. You are heading into a new path in life and are ready to learn by example or from a past experience. You may be going through a situation in your waking life where you feel that you are being treated like a student or in which you feel you are being put to a test. Also pay attention to the demeanor and attitude of the teacher in your dream (he was humbled).

Humble (Tell Me My Dream)

May suggest feeling self-conscious of shortcomings, mistakes or failings. To dream about meeting a humble stranger is a symbol of spiritual and personal growth. Whereas in the past you may have neglected a side of you which could give you a sense of calm and tranquility, you would soon take time out to discover your spirituality amidst the chaos of everyday living. You would be surprised to learn that all it would take is a momentโ€™s silence to experience inner peace.

Waving (Dreammoods)

To dream that you are waving to someone represents your connection to that person. You are trying to gain their recognition or get their attention. The dream may also signify your need to develop deeper and closer friendship ties

Neighbor (Dreammoods)

To dream of having a good neighbor signifies enjoyment and tranquility at home. Alternatively, the dream could mean relocation from your home. Perhaps you are in need of a change of scenery.

We have now seen several symbols which signify a change, a transition, a new adventure, or a new path. The lake symbol tells the dreamer to rely on her inner peace during the transition. Also, several symbols give us clues that the dreamer is seeking emotional support, seeking insight and authoritative approval, and needs to bridge or connect two things together. This could mean that she wants to connect with her son, or simply that she needs to put her thoughts or outside information together. These discernments will need to be reflected upon by the dreamer themselves. Link also symbolizes that she is receptive to different viewpoints. The dreamer confirms that she very recently started seeing a therapist to help sort through her troubles and find her way through this chapter in her life, which validates so many of her dream symbology.

Gift (Dreammoods)

To dream that you receive a gift indicates that you are being rewarded and recognized for your generosity and giving nature. You are held in high esteem by those around you. In the realm of dream interpretation, receiving gifts holds significant symbolism. When we dream about receiving gifts, it represents the act of receiving something valuable or meaningful from someone. The act of giving and receiving gifts is often associated with love, appreciation, and generosity.

Gift (Inside My Dream)

One common interpretation of receiving gifts in dreams is abundance and prosperity. This interpretation suggests that the dream may be signaling the arrival of positive changes or an increase in wealth and blessings in your life. Another interpretation revolves around recognition and appreciation. Receiving a gift in a dream may symbolize the desire for recognition, validation, or appreciation from others. It could indicate a need for acknowledgment or a longing for praise and admiration. Another interpretation of receiving gifts in dreams is the encouragement to take the initiative. The dream may be a reminder to be proactive in pursuing your goals and dreams. It could be a sign that you have the resources and support necessary to move forward in your endeavors.

Adult (DreamInterp.com)

Growing sense of recognizing needs of partner. Ability to be something for the partnerโ€™s sake without losing oneโ€™s own independence or will. Becoming aware of the isยญsues which color or influence relationship and meeting them as partners. Independence and closeness together. Mature self, viewing life from experience and greater sensitivity to self and others. Dreaming of an adult represents that you are embracing the process of growing, the courage it takes to be responsible, mature and sensible. For some, being an adult represents freedom, for some it represents a burden.

Donation (Dreammoods)

To dream that you are giving a donation refers to your ability to give love. Conversely, if you are receiving a donation, then it refers to your ability to receive love.

Donation (Inside My Dream)

The person offering the money in the dream (neighbor) may represent a source of support, kindness, or assistance in your life. This dream could serve as a reminder to appreciate the help and resources available to you, or to consider how you can extend generosity to others in return.

Because the dreamer did not give or receive the donation, but witnessed it, we can interpret that this symbology may be about the dreamer’s ability to witness love. The dreamer’s son, who in the dream was an adult (growth, maturity, independence, responsible) and a teacher (guidance, knowledge, new path), received two gifts, the truck (responsibilities, heavy load) and the check (payment is coming, opportunity for a new lifestyle) in the form of a donation (the ability of the dreamer to witness love) with the numbers 10222222…

Check (Dreammoods)

To see a check in your dream suggests that you may feel indebted to others. The dream may also be a pun on checking things out.

Check (AuntyFlo)

To receive a check in a dream means payment is coming. This is a positive dream symbol. It might be an opportunity to embark on a new relationship or lifestyle. The paycheck indicates trustworthy individuals who will provide protection, advice, and support. If you or someone you know is losing sight of a situation, take a step back. Remember, that solid structures require versatility.

Also consider the term “raincheck.” If something you want is delayed, trust that you will receive it at a later time.

1 – One (Dreammoods)

One stands for individuality, autonomy, leadership, originality, confidence and the ego. To be number one means that you are a winner and the best. Alternatively, one signifies solitude or loneliness. It also stands for a higher spiritual force.

0 – Zero (Dreammoods)

Zero symbolizes nothingness and emptiness. You are experiencing a void in your life. The symbol may also share the same significance as a circle and thus denotes infinity, eternity, completeness, absolute freedom and holiness. Alternatively, the dream forewarns that you are going around in circles and headed nowhere. Perhaps your actions have been counterproductive. It also represents timelessness and the super-conscious.

2 – Two (Dreammoods)

Two stands for balance, diversity, partnership, marriage cooperation, soul, or receptivity. It can also symbolize double weakness or double strength. The world is seen as being made up of dualities and opposites, as in the male and female, mother and father, light and dark, heaven and hell, yin and yang, etc.

The order of the numbers contains a very encouraging message. Her son is changing into a man. As he should, he seeks individuality and autonomy. He will also need to acquire the characteristics of leadership and originality in order to take on the responsibilities of an adult one day. This may create a feeling of emptiness or a void in the dreamer’s life. However, balance, cooperation, receptivity, and soul will be restored to the mother. One unit becomes two which is a Okay.

Jade (Dreammoods)

To see jade in your dream indicates growth, healing power, purity, harmony, luck, immortality, and truth. It refers to the shaping and development of your personality.

Old-fashioned (Star Dozen)

Dreaming about something old-fashioned often symbolizes a desire for the past or nostalgia. It may reflect your longing for simpler times, when life seemed less complicated and more predictable. This dream could also suggest that you are feeling out of touch with modern trends or technology, possibly resisting change in some aspect of your waking life. Overall, an old-fashioned dream urges self-reflection regarding your attitudes towards change and tradition in order to find balance between preserving what is valuable from the past while still adapting to present circumstances.

Fancy

To dream of fancy things indicates that you are putting up a facade and hiding your true self. You are trying to divert attention to unimportant things.

Luxury (Inside My Dream)

Itโ€™s important to recognize that luxury and indulgence can also represent a need for escape or avoidance. Sometimes, these dreams can signal a desire to escape from the stresses and pressures of daily life. In this case, the dream may not be so much about material possessions as it is about finding a sense of peace and relaxation. Is someone in your life indulgent and self-centered?

Expensive (Dreamsopedia)

Expensive in your dream points to your need for leisure and relaxation. You need to express yourself to those around you. You feel you are being criticized unfairly. The dream expresses feelings of hopelessness about some situation or circumstance. You heard something that you wished you didnโ€™t hear in the first place. Expensive in this dream is evidence for your feelings of insecurities and anxieties. You need to keep your head high even in difficult times. Perhaps you are moving too fast. Your dream denotes something that you are dying to say. What you think is true about others may turn out to be the contrary.

Column (Dreammoods)

To see columns in your dream symbolize strength and hard work. You may be feeling burdened or drained in some way or that you find yourself needing to support others.

Pillar (Dreammoods)

To see a pillar in your dream represents your strength, stability, and a firm stance, especially in the face of adversity. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you have the full support of those around you. You are being honored and recognized. As with most elongate objects, a pillar may also have phallic connotations.

The message from these symbols shows that although the dreamer has nostalgia for the way things used to be, through self-reflection regarding her attitudes towards change, she will undergo a spiritual transformation that will bring wisdom, strength, healing, truth, and stability. She can and will find balance between preserving what is valuable from the past while still adapting to present circumstances. She may feel her son is being indulgent and self-centered but what she believes may be contrary to the truth. Again, the dream validates that she has an abundance of support around her. This part of the dream also acknowledges her need to express herself and that there is something she is dying to say.

Sister (Dreammoods)

A sister may draw attention to your family role, or someone who plays “sister” in your family. Alternatively, sister may be a metaphor for a nun. In this case, she may represent some spiritual issues.

Punch (Dreammoods)

If someone is punching you, then the dream is highlighting your helplessness and powerlessness in some waking situation. It also implies that someone is forcing their views on you. In particular, to dream that you are punched in the stomach indicates that you are experiencing some sort of emotional void

Breasts (Dreammoods)

To see breasts in your dream symbolize primal nourishment and your need to be nursed and care for. The breasts represent motherhood, nurturance, and infantile dependency. Alternatively, breasts indicate sexual arousal and raw energy. Seeing naked breasts can also denote a feeling of exposure and invasion of privacy. In particular, for a woman, the dream may indicate anxieties about becoming a woman/mother

To wrap up this dream interpretation, the dreamer see’s someone’s sister getting punched in the naked breasts by a child, nonetheless. This implies what we already know from the dreamer’s life. She feels helpless and powerless to the changes in her life around the relationship with her son as well as her relationship with herself as a mother, and perhaps, her daughter’s relationship to her brother. She feels exposed and vulnerable to the pain in her heart. She has an emotional void. This undoubtedly affects her spirit and soul. She needs to care for herself. We remember here all the wonderful messages of grace, favor, support, and strength. Remember, this is only a phase or cycle in the dreamer’s life. She has many more wonderful and abundantly blessed adventures to come. As for right now, she is guided to fall back on the support around her, rest and relax, breathe (respira or in-spirit), and trust in the universe. The universe always has our backs. God always has our backs.
