Happy first New Moon of the New Year!!
Capricorn is a hard-working sign, which means that this first New Moon of 2024 will have lots of ambitious and determined energy. Capricorns are known to be hard-working and very set on their goals. For this new moon, evaluate your sense of grounding and stability- and your relationship to work and achievement. Think on making some more long-term goals. Since we are in the new year, consider using the power of this moon to amplify the growing potential of your New Year’s resolutions.

- Capricorn is symbolized by the sea goat, which has the body of a goat and the tail of a fish. If you could turn into a sea goat, what powers would you have? “My powers consist of….”
- List ten “small things” (your fuzzy blanket, your favorite coffee, etc.) you are thankful for. Start the sentences with, “I am thankful for…. ” Take note of any patterns you can see here.
- Contemplate: When is it worth it to break the rules? Write, “I feel it’s important to break the rules when…”
- “My own perseverance saved the day when…”
- What in my life am I ready to take more responsibility for? How will I do that? “I am ready to take responsibility for…” and, “I am taking responsibility in these areas of my life: …”
- What do I do to relax? What are the most effective relaxation techniques for me? “I take time to relax when… the methods of relaxation I use include…”
- Describe a time I had to abandon perfection but still ended up pleased with the results. Maybe affirm, “when I try my best, it’s always more than enough.”

Don’t forget that creating your own personal and authentic affirmations amplifies your manifestation powers. “I am” is great to start with. It’s incredibly potent, simply because you are what you say you are. Affirmations are one of the many ways you can manifest and it’s one of the easiest ways to harness the power within you, and reciting your affirmations during the new moon is like doubling it and giving it back to yourself.

One of the most effective ways of making your affirmation seeds grow is writing them down, and I mean you simply write them down, weather in a journal or a restaurant napkin! You don’t have to do anything fancy unless you feel led to. The act of writing them alone will make the soil around your seeds more fertile allowing them to grow strong and fast. Writing them in a keepsake journal, however, makes for a delightful nostalgia down the road, when years later you can look back on how the seeds you planted have grown. Always be grateful for your harvest, now and to come.
Some ways you can ritualistically plant these into the universe is by burning them, burying them in the ground, or just by reading them out loud.
