I had no idea what “noetic” means. Do you know what noetic means?
no•et•ic: From the Greek noēsis/ noētikos, meaning inner wisdom, direct knowing, intuition, or implicit understanding.

Here at The Night Sun we really love it when ancient wisdom meets modern science. So when I checked my email this morning I was delighted to find that my beloved yoga school, My Vinyasa Practice, presenting to their students the opportunity to be apart of a legit research study connecting those very two things! Ancient wisdom, and modern science. I’ve always wanted to DO super duper cool research like this myself…. specifically in the areas of phenomenology and consciousness, buuut I can settle for being a participant until further notice. My Vinyasa Practice and the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) are actually partnering to study how transformative practices influence interconnectedness, well-being, and intuition.

Since I am going to be a certified lab rat for IONS I decided to get more familiar with their mission and I am loving what I found. IONS states, “Through modern scientific inquiry, we seek to better understand a timeless truth — humanity is deeply interconnected.” Bingo! They totally feel me. They also shared this quote from Nikola Tesla and I strongly agree,
“The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence”
OK ya’ll, this is the bottom line….. this is why IONS has won our hearts over here at The Night Sun, and earned a spot in our brand new network. The scientists, researchers, thought leaders, visionaries, healers, strategists, collaborators, and retreat staff at IONS value both science and spirituality. If these noble ideas weren’t inspiring enough, guess who founded IONS and why… only the 6th person to walk on the moon! As Dr. Edgar Mitchells spaceship traveled back from the moon amidst the vast darkness of the cosmos, his eyes became fixed on the blue sphere we call home. As he neared Earth, he was enveloped by a profound sense of universal connectedness. Wow…… just wow. This organization is definitely in alignment with our values and we wanted to share their work with the rest of the world. Bravo IONS!
